Speech-Language Pathologist
Nicole Muir has had extensive experience in the areas of assessment, intervention, and consultation regarding a variety of communication disorders. She has worked extensively with children presenting with language disorders, phonological disorders, motor speech disorders, pervasive developmental disorders, autism and developmental delays.
Nicole is fully bilingual in both English and French and
is comfortable providing clinical services in either language. Prior to moving to the Niagara
region in 1997, Nicole provided services to severely language disordered children within the
context of classroom and team-based intervention.
Nicole enjoys working with children of all ages, and her particular areas of interest include: oral-motor development and motor-based articulation difficulties; childhood apraxia; phonological awareness and the linking of language development to the emergence of reading skills.
Since her relocation in the Niagara region, Nicole has developed a special interest in providing services to children with Down syndrome, as well to as to children falling within the range of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
